  • Macuti Lighthouse

    Founded in 1960, Gorongosa Park was one of the best safari parks in Africa before the civil war. After this period, the park underwent a recovery process and was reopened in 2004.   • Macuti Shipwreck

    In 1985, a Dutch tugboat named Macuti was beached near the Macuti lighthouse to serve as a breakwater. Since it’s intentional demise, the ship has been consumed by the elements and is slowly but steadily dissipating with each passing day. The surrounding beach is regularly frequented by locals and visitors, who in turn can walk around the wreck whenever the tide allows.
